Studio Policies

welcome to sol

our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where students can grow through movement, creativity, strength, and community. these policies help us maintain a positive experience for everyone while supporting the long-term sustainability of our programs.

last updated: june, 2026

Attendance and Reservations

students are encouraged to reserve classes in advance whenever possible.

please arrive 5–10 minutes before class begins to allow time for check-in and preparation.

late arrivals may be asked to observe portions of class if missing the warm-up creates a safety concern.

students should come prepared to participate from the beginning of class.

memberships

memberships reserve a student's place within the sol training program and renew automatically each billing cycle unless otherwise stated.

memberships are non-transferable and may only be used by the enrolled student.

unused classes do not roll over to future billing cycles unless otherwise approved by sol.

membership pricing reflects ongoing enrollment and access to training opportunities rather than a specific number of calendar days per month.

Student Cancellations

students may cancel a scheduled class up to 48 hours before the start of class without losing the session.

classes canceled with less than 48 hours notice are considered used and are not eligible for makeup.

students may use up to two (2) makeup classes per membership cycle.

makeup classes must be used within the same membership cycle and do not roll over into future months.

Sol Cancellations

if sol aerial arts cancels a class due to weather conditions, facility closures, instructor emergencies, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances, students will not lose that class.

classes canceled by sol do not count toward a student's monthly makeup limit.

sol will provide a makeup opportunity, schedule adjustment, membership extension, bonus class, or alternative training option whenever possible.

Seasonal Breaks

sol aerial arts follows a seasonal training calendar designed to support student growth, artistic development, and community performances.

each year, sol may observe:

☀️ summer break

❄️ winter break

these breaks allow students and instructors time to rest, reset, and prepare for upcoming training seasons and showcase productions.

regular class schedules may be adjusted during these periods.

Summer and Winter Intensives

during seasonal breaks, sol may offer optional summer intensives and winter intensives.

these programs may include:

• technique workshops

• choreography labs

• open practice opportunities

• specialty apparatus training

• showcase preparation

• guest instructors and master classes

articipation in intensives may be included with select memberships or offered separately depending on the program.

Student Showcases

sol may host up to two annual student showcases each year:

☀️ summer showcase

❄️ winter showcase

these events provide students the opportunity to celebrate their progress, explore creative expression, and share their work with friends, family, and the community.

participation is always encouraged but never required.

Membership Calendar Policy

membership schedules may vary throughout the year due to seasonal breaks, showcase preparation periods, holidays, instructor travel, continuing education, weather conditions, or special studio events.

whenever possible, advance notice will be provided.

sol may offer makeup opportunities, bonus classes, schedule adjustments, membership extensions, or alternative training options when appropriate.

students will not lose classes due to scheduled sol closures.

Membership Holds

members may request a temporary membership hold for extended travel, medical reasons, military service, or other special circumstances.

hold requests are reviewed individually and must be approved in advance by sol.

What to Wear

students should wear clothing that allows a full range of motion while protecting the skin from aerial fabric and equipment.

recommended attire includes:

• leotards

• fitted cotton tights or leggings

• fitted cotton clothing that covers the backs of the knees and waist whenever possible

please remove:

• jewelry (rings and long earrings)

• watches

• belts

• sharp accessories

• anything that may damage equipment or create a safety concern

avoid lotions, oils, or body products before class as they may affect grip and equipment safety.

Health and Wellness

students are responsible for informing instructors of any injuries, medical conditions, pregnancies, surgeries, or physical limitations that may affect participation.

students are encouraged to listen to their bodies and communicate openly if modifications are needed.

participation is always voluntary.

Safety First

safety is our highest priority.

students must follow instructor directions at all times.

skills should only be practiced at the level approved by the instructor.

students may not use equipment without instructor supervision unless participating in an approved open practice session.

safety decisions made by instructors are final.

Respect and Community

sol aerial arts is committed to being a welcoming space for all backgrounds, identities, abilities, and experience levels.

we ask all students to:

• treat fellow students, instructors, and staff with kindness and respect

• support an inclusive and encouraging environment

• respect personal boundaries and consent

• help create a space where everyone feels safe to learn and express themselves

harassment, discrimination, bullying, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated.

Photography and Social Media

photos and videos may occasionally be taken during classes, workshops, performances, and special events.

students may opt out of appearing in promotional content at any time.

please be respectful when filming and avoid recording others without their permission.

Outdoor Training and Weather

because some sol programs may take place outdoors, classes may occasionally be modified, relocated, rescheduled, or canceled due to:

• high winds
